Sunday, March 2, firefighters from Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Halfmoon Bay and Sechelt took part in the BC Lung Foundation “Climb the Wall” charity event.

With the ocean temperature at just 7.3C — and the air not much warmer — it was a daring bunch who took part in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Polar Plunge, Feb. 27.

The Special Olympics BC Polar Plunge took place in 7.3C water at Trail Bay beach, Thursday afternoon.

'His greatest joy was his family, puttering in the yard and garden, playing his harmonica for family and friends.'

The provincial count is seeking out the less visible homeless, including people living on boats and in their car.
