Welcome to the 2022 Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards! It is time to show the love for all the local businesses that have been nominated for a 2022 Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Award.

This year we have done things a little differently—we opened up the nomination process for the Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards (SCPCAs) to our local community. Nominations were open for a 5-week period which ran from April 7–May 11, 2022 on our partner the Sunshine Coast Business Recovery Centre’s website. During this time the local community was invited to either nominate their own business or all their favourite local businesses in 125 predetermined categories. You can find more details about the nomination process at www.scbrc.ca/ coastyourvote.

Voting for the 2022 People’s Choice Awards will be done in four 2-week periods. Once the 2-week voting period for each ballot is complete, there will be no further votes accepted for the categories within that ballot. The voting periods for each ballot are as follows:

BALLOT 1 ‘RETAIL’: Voting opens on July 1, 2022(Friday) at 10:00am and closes on July 14, 2022(Thursday) at 11:59pm

BALLOT 2 ‘HEALTH, WELLNESS & LIFESTYLE’: Voting opens on July 15, 2022(Friday) at 10:00am and closes on July 28, 2022(Thursday) at 11:59pm

BALLOT 3 ‘SERVICES’: Voting opens on July 29, 2022(Friday) at 10:00am and closes on August 11, 2022(Thursday) at 11:59pm

BALLOT 4 ‘FOOD & DRINK’: Voting opens on August 12, 2022(Friday) at 10:00am and closes on August 25, 2022(Thursday) at 11:59pm

The top three businesses that receive the most votes in each of the 125 categories and will become the 1st place winner and 2nd and 3rd place runners-up of the 2022 Sunshine Coast People’s Choice Awards. These businesses will be notified that they have been chosen as a finalist by September 30, 2022.

The 1st place winners and the 2nd and 3rd place runners-up of 2022 Sunshine Coast People’s Choice awards will be announced in October, 2022 in a special feature published by the Coast Reporter.
