Gibsons Council approved the Town’s 2024 Annual Report at its July 8 Regular Meeting of Council, marking the completion of a key annual requirement under the Community Charter.

The report, which was released to the public on June 12, received no formal feedback from residents.  However, council members were quick to commend the Communications team for producing a document that was both informative and visually engaging.

“I think it was an excellent job,” said Coun. Annemarie De Andrade, noting the clear breakdown of departmental activities and the inclusion of photos. “It really helped my understanding. Maybe only a small percentage of people know what the Town does day to day, and this really showed it.”

Coun. David Croal echoed the praise, calling the report “refreshing” and applauding the use of photography.

Communications Coordinator Bronwyn Kent said that aside from a few minor corrections—such as spelling and image captions—no changes were made to the content following its release.

The staff report explains that the Annual Report was designed to be more accessible this year, with short project summaries and visual highlights aimed at making it easier for residents to engage with.

The annual report also outlines Council’s strategic priorities and shows progress on key initiatives.

It’s available online through the Town’s website, with printed copies at Town Hall.

The motion to approve the report passed unanimously.
