For Trevor Pike, firefighting was a family business, now he's leaving the department to spend more time with his family.

While the original estimate for repairs to water damage from a mid-January water leak was a month, as further damage was uncovered, the estimate shifted. The most recent update suggests a timeline of eight to 13 weeks.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 24 is the Celebration of Life for Betty Silvey who was the heartbeat of the Egmont community. All her life Betty was the tireless volunteer for every good cause benefitting so many in the Egmont Community and beyond.

'Katie was very sensitive, generous and caring. She always stood up for the underdog, those who she felt were being bullied and those less fortunate than her. She was also great fun to be with and loved a good joke or two.'

'Irene lived a remarkable life filled with many experiences and adventures. She worked as a medical lab technologist, volunteered for many causes, obtained her private pilots license, had many hobbies, enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and shopping, loved to cook, bake, and entertain in her home, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family and close friends.'
