The following letter was sent to the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) and copied to Coast Reporter. I understand the need for the new restrictions on water usage.

Re: Beach fire in the Creek (Coast Reporter, July 10) Editor: Nowhere else in the world do we see beaches polluted with cut logs like we do here in B.C.

The following letter was sent to West Howe Sound director Lee Turnbull and copied to Coast Reporter. Dear Lee: I am one local resident who has made good use of the Gibsons Recycling Depot.

I don't know if I'll ever live in a time where racism won't be an issue and diversity and diverse views will be welcomed. But I hope that day is coming sooner rather than later.

It is with great sadness that I have just read the brochure from the Gibsons Recycling Depot, outlining their important changes and that they will no longer be able to accept most household recycling items.

Thanks to Bill and Ev Sluis for flagging the growing summertime nuisance of speeding, baffle-less motorbikes through the streets of Gibsons (Coast Reporter letters, July 17). The race track is indeed open.

As I watch the road issues in Davis Bay unfold in Coast Reporter, I'm struck by the fact that this is, again, just the tip of the iceberg being considered.
