In regards to Jenny Wag-ler's article about paramedics/ambulance service; (Coast Reporter, Jan. 15), frequently our government makes the point that, to justify insane amounts paid to its senior staff, often a high six figures, that "we need to attract and hold the talent."

What about those working the front lines, who are taking the mothers of these highly-paid do-littles from home to hospital or out of a wrecked vehicle. Is this worth only the $10 an hour they are currently paid? The disparity is glaringly unjustifiable - yet there it is.

Please, next time we have the opportunity to elect these guys, remember the front liners: teachers, health care workers, social services and others. At the moment we are losing all our best people because they cannot live on the money we're told is available, while government gives each other pay raises that would make those in the private sector drool.
