Last Saturday more than 200 concerned Coasters rallied out front of Conservative member of Parliament John Weston's constituency office in Sechelt.

Editor: I applaud Francis McGuckin's challenge to Sunshine Coast neighbourhoods to tackle the invasive Scotch broom within their reach (Coast Reporter, letters, May 25).

Editor: There will be a public hearing on June 13 at Coopers Green at 7 p.m. that all Coast residents committed to the vision of keeping our regional district "rural by nature" should attend.

The price of gas has more than tripled during my lifetime. But that's not even the incredible part. What I find difficult to believe is that throughout my years there have always been alternatives.

They may have a new look and a new name, but you can expect the same level of volunteerism and commitment when it comes to our marine search and rescue members, who have been keeping our waters safe for more than 150 years.

Editor: I am writing to add my name to the growing list of individuals who live on the Sunshine Coast and wish to make their voices known that, yes, we need a passenger-only ferry service. B.C.
