Editor:
To all the volunteer firefighters that worked the devastating fire at Poplars Trailer Park last Thursday, my wife and I would like to thank you all deeply for saving our home from destruction.
As we live right next door to the burned unit, the possibility of having our home also burn down was very real, so you can well image just how relieved we were when the fire truck pulled up in front and out jumped the first of many volunteer firemen.
To observe the team members quickly move into action while remaining cool and well organized was most reassuring for us, as in the beginning, it certainly looked like our home would be affected.
We were most impressed when the lads where finally able to enter the smoke-filled shell of a trailer. To do so obviously requires considerable guts and lots of experience.
We kept remarking to the gathering crowd just how fortunate we all are living in an area where having such brave and responsible talent so willingly offer their time and energy in spite of the potential dangers inherent in their type of public service, they so generously offer! Our most sincere thanks to you all!
