The opinion of Dr. Kendall (Coast Reporter, Aug. 31) that getting a flu shot is health care workers' "ethical and professional responsibility" is incredible.

Twelve years ago, Dr. Jefferson of the renowned Cochrane Vaccines Field wrote about the flu shot: "Little comparative evidence exists on the safety of these vaccinesThe optimistic and confident tone of the impact of inactivated vaccines, which are at odds with the evidence is striking."

Dr. Jefferson also noted a, "confusion" about influenza-like illness and true influenza targeted by the vaccine. On average, for the last 12 years (including the 'pandemic' year), Canada's FluWatch reports only 11.5 per cent of samples from patients with flu-like symptoms have tested positive for influenza.

In light of these facts, how responsible and ethical is Dr. Kendall's plan of forcedtaxpayer-funded flu shots or forced masks?
