Editor:
We think permitting a fish processing plant in a residential area continues to be a very lame idea. From the very beginning this plan was heavily promoted by a sophisticated and expensive PR campaign. Anyone against the project was nailed with being a NIMBY and repeatedly told they were anti economic development.
Now we are being informed that further opposition is boring, selfish and unproductive (Coast Reporter, letters, Aug. 24).
Wake up folks. Intelligent, concerned citizens using their democratic rights are still fighting a corporation that is building an eco-unfriendly abattoir in their residential zone. Where is the environmental impact statement?
Would you like to live next to this plant if it were placed in West Sechelt, or Selma Park when there are viable alternatives? We don't think so!
