Editor: I am writing to voice my support of the Gibsons Recycling Depot and to protest the lack of community and governmental support behind it.

Editor: The Suncoast Trails Society developed the Sun-coaster Trail between 1993 and 2003, as well as signage at trail heads and four kiosks situated at various locations along Highway 101 between Half-moon Bay and Egmont.

Editor: I really enjoyed the We Bought the Farm opening of the Botanical Garden on Mason Road on July 5. Seeing it inspired two ideas: I hope the Garden will promote the use of drip irrigation systems.

Editor: Question: How long does it take for unconcerned slobs to start a trend of destroying the beautiful new bus shelter across from Sunnycrest Mall? Answer: Less than 24 hours.

Editor: At best, Highway 101 minature bus shelters provide fair weather cover from directly overhead sun. Barely wide enough for two average people to stand beneath, the petite roof provides virtually no protection from rain, snow or sun.

When I was kid growing up in Dawson Creek, an old lady lived behind us who used to go to funerals for entertainment.

Editor: I moved to Davis Bay and the Laurel Avenue 4900 block because it was a quiet neighborhood. Now as I have been told by Mayor Darren Inkster that our quiet street is needed as an alternative to Highway 101.

Re: Steve Holland's letter (Coast Reporter, July 10) Editor: Area E (Elphinstone) has within its borders many interesting, intelligent citizens. Like the rest of us some have good ideas, some not so good.

Editor: As a person who has a valid handicapped parking permit, I feel I am justified in speaking out.

Residents of East Porpoise Bay are raising a stink about a proposed new sewage treatment facility in their neighbourhood.
