Apologies for my error

I need to correct a comment I made during the Target Marine public hearing on Monday, Jan. 9.

I honestly thought I said, "It probably has gone up again this year" not "it has gone up again this year." in regards to my property value with BC assessment.

As of Jan. 9 I did not have my assessment. I did not receive it until two days after the hearing. I was not aware of my oversight until I read the article in Coast Reporter, Jan. 13 with my comments quoted.

For the first time since I have lived here my BC Assessment property value has decreased. My omission of that one single word has caused me a great deal of disappointment in myself as I would never deliberately deceive anyone at any time with misinformation. Not my style and it's just not right. However, my viewpoint that my industrial neighbours' have not affected my property value remains valid, as this is the first time we have had a decrease.

My sincere apologies to anyone I have negatively affected by my error. Now if you'll excuse me, I must remove my foot from my mouth and dig into a big piece of humble pie.
