Mayor John Hendersonand council members for the District of Sechelt - if you wish to commit political suicide continue on with your self-indulging thoughts of owning your own golf course. Is this to make your own political mark? You the council members must understand the tough financial time we are having as taxpayers, it is time to show restraint. We do not need another losing proposition. Mayor Henderson, remember at your meeting on Saturday, Jan. 14 you said, "I would hate to have to ask the taxpayers for another f$50." Our advice to the council is, transfer the leases to a private management group in hopes of recovering the $191,000 in default owed by the Sechelt Golf and Country Club.

It was mentioned by Mayor Henderson that the District of Sechelt was nowpaying operational expenses with the municipalities reserve fund. How long are they planning to do this?It is estimated for the District to operate and service some of the debts for three months, could total approximately one million dollars. Should the reserve fund be used this way? If you the taxpayers are concerned, voice your opinion by notifyingyour mayor or council members.
