After a visit to St. Mary's Hospital emergency department three weeks ago, I was sent by helicopter to the intensive care unit at Lions Gate Hospital with a severe case of streptococcus pneumonia. Ten days later, when my condition had stabilized and been brought under control, I was returned to St. Mary's to continue the healing process.
I can't say enough about the staff, and the caring and cheerful atmosphere of our local hospital. It deserves every bit of help and support that we as a community are able to give it. As for the food, fresh, tasty and appealing, it's in danger of giving hospital food a good name!
