Editor: I attended the all-candidates meeting organized by the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce last Thursday (Oct. 30) at the Community Centre. It was an awesome display of community involvement — literally standing room only.

Editor: I have lived and operated a business in Gibsons for the past 16 years. In all those years I have not seen any growth to Lower Gibsons, only business starting and folding. With about half the population over 55, we are a retirement community.

Editor: In spite of the signage indicating otherwise, only three incumbent candidates for council are up for re-election in Gibsons. It’s informative to compare the overall job performance of the two who are completing their first term in office.
