Editor: At a check-up appointment recently, I mentioned to my physician that my eyes are dry, gritty-feeling and irritable; my throat is similar, and I often experience what I consider more-than-normal thirst plus some loss of energy and a shortness

I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the latest victims' awareness campaign. And, of course, I mean the newly proclaimed World Elder Abuse Awareness Day we'll be asked to acknowledge on June 15.

Editor: Thank you, Sue Carson, for writing about connecting with me as your MP (Coast Reporter letters, May 17).

Editor: We had a fantastic time last Sunday (May 26) watching the spectacular display of dolphin and orca activity in Sechelt Inlet. It was absolutely incredible to see these magnificent creatures in such numbers right in our Inlet.

When I turned the page of my calendar this week, I naturally scanned the month of June for any sign of a potential holiday and saw that Father's Day is only about two weeks away.

Editor: We hear a lot of talk about the things that make the Coast special, but no one mentions our most interesting resource - our crankiness! Every Friday I wait by the mailbox for Coast Reporter. Why? For the letters, of course.

Editor: Re: "Why are we building at Ebbtide?" (Coast Reporter letters, May 17). We have now had three months of Jef Keighley giving us, the people of Sechelt, the benefit of his "critical thinking" about our new wastewater plant.

Editor: Proposed pipelines from the Canadian oil sands to the Pacific, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic are being opposed by those who are described by others as "eco-Fascists." Al Gore has come from the U.S.

Editor: In response to Jef Keighley's letter (Coast Reporter, May 17) I'd say we have a bit of "the pot calling the kettle black.

Editor: I would like to express my thanks to the organizers of the March for Life held in Sechelt on May 9.
