I would like to address our MP John Weston about the Howe Sound layoffs.
Mr. Weston, where have you been? I would’ve thought that a layoff of this magnitude from your riding’s largest employer would constitute some kind of reaction from you. Instead, you walk right past mill employees in the Sea Cavalcade parade like they weren’t even there. We need your help more than ever and you can’t even bother to bat an eyelash. Every other political entity on the Sunshine Coast has offered help or at least their condolences, except the one who represents us in Ottawa.
I’m too overwhelmed with grieving for all my close friends and their families who are going to lose their homes and livelihoods to be concerned with what you’re doing about it. I just expected more from someone who was elected to help – or at least care – about the people living here.
