Editor: After reading the letter in Coast Reporter by VCH director Lauren Tindall (“VCH defends care home plan,” June 24), I feel that a rebuttal is necessary. I will assert that her comments are correct as far as she has been prepared to state.

Editor: I overwhelmingly agree with June 17 letters by Justin Glover (“Not a simple move”) and R.E. McInnis (“Real cost of privatization”) regarding the privatization of Totem Lodge and Shorncliffe.

Editor: In the June 10 article, “Mixed reviews for VCH long-term care plan,” Seniors Advocate Isobel McKenzie demonstrates her disconnect with the issues of long-term care.

Editor: Re: “More than 200 march in Coast Pride parade,” Coast Reporter, June 24. How wonderful that so many responded to the opportunity to march for Pride.

Editor: For all BC Ferries’ faults that are so often featured in the paper, I must say the service my aging mother received today was second to none.

Editor: Thank you, Roger Lagasse, for the informative letter, “Free land a Canadian tradition” (Coast Reporter, June 24) – in particular, the information of what happened in Libya.

Dear Gibsons Mayor and Council: Regarding “Goosebird Creek plan faces opposition” (Coast Reporter, June 24) about the Town’s plan to realign and naturalize the creek, and the opposition to this plan by a local resident.

Editor: I cannot believe the continuing incompetence by our leaders over the treatment of veterans.
