The Elphinstone Secondary lady Cougars continue to roll right along. Last weekend, the Elphi senior girls' volleyball team captured their second tournament title of the season, winning a tournament at Point Grey Secondary.

This week in the men's league, front running Xenichen Wolves and the IGA Selects met at Ted Dixon to duke it out for first place.

The Elphi Cougars put in a strong showing, finishing third last weekend at a tournament in North Vancouver. Elphi started strong, winning their pool after Friday night's play and winning their first playoff game on Saturday.

The world famous travellers known as the Harlem Crowns are coming to Gibsons next Saturday to challenge the Elphi Cougars alumni squad. The game is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Elphi gym.

The Inlet Raiders have some Razorbacks nipping at their heels. The Ross Concrete Services/SC Home Building Centre Razorbacks had a great week, winning a pair of games to pull even with eight points and top spot with the Raiders.

The Sunshine Coast Skating Club is off to another fabulous start.

The men's and woman's leagues here on the Sunshine Coast have a shortage of referees this season. We don't get no respect! The refs list has only a few names on it and some of the veterans have opted not to suit up on Sundays.

Dozens of Coast teams came together under sunny skies for the Sechelt Nation Annual Seven-a-Side Soccer Tournament at Ted Dixon Memorial Park last weekend with two Squamish teams also vying for the $1,000 top prize.
