The Chatelech Eagles won the battle of the Coast last Thursday. The senior girls won their first league game of the season, toppling their rivals from Elphinstone 43-26. Earlier in the week, Chat lost 62-40 to Howe Sound.

Pacific Blades speed skating club is off to a great start. Currently, the club boasts a roster of nine skaters and the word is getting out around the Coast about this exciting sport.

The Howe Sound Sounders grounded the Chatelech Eagles Saturday night in Sechelt. The Sounders from Squamish pulled out a thrilling 58-57 win to capture the Open Waters senior boys basketball tournament title.

No outdoor soccer for weeks, thanks to Mother Nature, had the U15 and U18 girls' teams raring to go at the annual Old Boot indoor soccer tournament at the Chatelech gym Jan. 3.

The Chatelech Eagles senior boys picked up their second win of the season Monday night with a 64-57 win over Collingwood. Chat has played four league games. With the win, they saw their record improve to 2-2.

The Sunshine Coast Arena was home to some great hockey action during the Christmas holidays. The annual Turkey Bowl holiday tournament was fast and competitive.

Sechelt's Julia Budd is hoping the end of 2006 is just the start of an even better 2007. Budd fought Chrisann Roseliep from Denver, Colorado in a hard-fought battle in Tampa Bay, Dec. 8.
