Chat hosts friendship tournament

Four junior basketball teams gathered at Chatelech Secondary School last weekend, all in the spirit of wrapping up the season with some friendly competition.

Ya Yas pitch two shutouts

Ya Yas shut out Blazers 4-0 last Sunday in continuing their fantastic season. Rita Paulson scored twice, while Angela Muir and Alvina Paul scored singles. Last Wednesday night, Ya Yas beat Mayhem 3-0. Ya Yas have only lost once in 21 games.

Rep Thunder tie Chilliwack

With a change up in positions, the U13 Thunder took to the field against the Chilliwack Attack, battling to a 2-2 tie last weekend.

Elphi bantam boys win NS title

Elphinstone Secondary School is celebrating another North Shore championship after the bantam boys beat Hands-worth 44-33 on Feb. 13 in Gibsons. The Cougars went undefeated with an 8-0 record in league play and two playoff wins.

Midget Blues advance to final four

The midget rep Blues have advanced to the playoff final four by dispatching Abbotsford last weekend. In the first of a home-and-home series, the Blues won 1-0 on Saturday.

Bantam boys to play for title

The Elphinstone bantam boys were one win away from a North Shore title after beating Rockridge 39-22 on Feb. 6 in the first of two league semifinal games. The Cougars advanced to the final, which was played on Wednesday, Feb.

Lots of great action in house and rep

Ian Marshall's Team A had only three players and played a very strong team - Martin Blackwell's Roberts Creek team - in Sunshine Coast Youth Soccer Association House League action last Saturday.

Midget Blues start playoffs

The Sunshine Coast midget rep Blues have started their playoff run following a strong regular season which saw them capture the third seed out of 18 Lower Mainland teams.

Chat boys building for the future

The wins have been tough to come by this season for the juvenile and junior boys basketball teams at Chatelech Secondary School. But that isn't for lack of effort, passion and dedication by the coaches and players.
