The Drop Dead Gorgeous Pole Walking group raised $1,287 in 2022 by collecting toonies each week to contribute towards local charities. During their recent Christmas luncheon, it was determined that this year, the funds would be split equally, between S.C. Ground Search & Rescue, S.C. Hospice Society and Sechelt Groves Society. 

At 77 years and 198 days old the Sunshine Coast's Richard de la Mare held a headstand for 60 seconds and won a Guinness world record.

Principal Jamie Sadler told the Cedar Grove students that if they raised $1,500 for the food bank, he'd kiss a fish in front of the whole school. They raised $2,000.

This year, of the 40 families the Ministry of Children and Family Development is distributing Christmas hampers to on the Sunshine Coast, 10 are sponsored by local minor hockey teams.
