Capilano University and Sunshine Coast Community Services co-hosted their first ever Light up the Tree! holiday block party last Thursday, Dec. 1 on the grounds of Capilano’s kálax-ay campus in Sechelt.

Carmelita Weichert of Holy Family Parish presented Aenny Nagel and Chris Hergesheimer (both of the Sunshine Coast Food Bank) with a $5,000 food bank donation cheque.

'From his time working at Howe Sound to playing and coaching hockey, to his retirement hobbies, he was a man who made friends easily. He loved heading south in his RV every winter where he and Jan developed friendships with other RV'ers.'
