Gibsons Mayor and Council: I recorded the sea water level in Gibsons Harbour at 10:09 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16 when the high tide predicted by Fisheries and Oceans Canada was 16.1 feet (4.91 metres) for normal barometric pressure of 1,000 millibars.

Editor: On behalf of the Sunshine Coast Lions Club, thank you for the excellent coverage of the Polar Bear Swim at Davis Bay, which the Sunshine Coast Lions Club has sponsored for the last 24 years.

Editor: I was very disappointed to see that in the Jan. 15 issue, Coast Reporter published a letter about Dakota Ridge without verifying the facts.

Editor: Too bad Mr. Loppe decided to pass on Dakota Ridge (Letters, Jan. 15). My family plus three dogs who were over for Christmas had the best Christmas ever.

Editor: I would like to take the opportunity to respond to the subject of a storefront office on the Coast for our member of Parliament, Pam Goldsmith-Jones. I attended her office opening on Jan. 14.

Editor: Reading Coast Reporter’s Jan. 15 front-page story (“Prof says climate treaty more important than Versailles”), I could not help but feel that it established an “unfinished business” category on the global warming issue.
