Thanks for the piece on local “hot-shoe” Dylan King (“Dylan King joins aspiring racers at Rockingham Speedway,” Jan. 15).
May I add to the U.S. reporter’s comment about Canadian drivers heading south?
A young woman from Summerland, who is a certified professional welder, is now into her second year in full-time NASCAR racing. Sara Cornett-Ching learned her racing skills on B.C. short tracks from the tender age of 12, and is now powering round some of the biggest U.S. tracks, such as Daytona, at over 180 mph.
Way to go, Canada, and good luck to our own Dylan King in moving from straight-line dragging to the high-banked ovals south of the border.
