Editor:
I would like to take the opportunity to respond to the subject of a storefront office on the Coast for our member of Parliament, Pam Goldsmith-Jones.
I attended her office opening on Jan. 14. There were many individuals from the Sunshine Coast who took the opportunity to hop on the ferry and walk a block to her very convenient office on Bruce Street in Horseshoe Bay.
The idea that the federal government would want to look at fiscal responsibility appeals to me. With Ms. McKiernan on the job here on the Coast, you can be assured that all concerns would go directly and efficiently to Ms. Goldsmith-Jones.
I also believe that Pam is committed to spending time on the Coast to meet with agencies and individuals to hear their concerns and weave those concerns into the work she does. She has, by placing her office in Horseshoe Bay, made it as accessible as possible to not only West Vancouver, but the Sunshine Coast, Squamish, Whistler and beyond. It is a huge geographical riding and can’t possibly have offices in each area open five days a week and be fiscally responsible.
I have full confidence that Pam will represent the Sunshine Coast fully in Ottawa.
