Editor: Lunch time! Saturday! Heavy knocking on the door. Me to my wife: “Who would call right at lunch time?” Me to the door. Three girls, at a guess 8 to 11 years old. Me to myself: “What are they selling?” But nothing evident.

Editor: Two suggestions for improving ferries: 1. The cross-channel ferries have cars pull up to within one foot. Surely we can do the same. 2. Have walk-ons and offs more co-ordinated and punctual.

Editor: Am I the only one to observe dangerous and “me first” drivers? People who ignore stop, yield, and pedestrian signs are becoming very common. I don’t believe anyone will stop when they are supposed to.
