Editor: Recently my little Largo Road neighbourhood had a barbecue with several themes related to disaster preparation, fire protection, tool sharing, flowers in the ditches and improvements to our local trail.

Editor: If Mayor Barry Janyk wants to create traffic calming in Gibsons, a good place to start would be at the intersection of Reed Road and North Road.

Editor: Congratulations to the old boys walking club and their dedication to bring forward a recommendation to stop the Davis Bay destruction highway plan.

Editor: Sunshine Coast FAC expresses strong disappointment with the recently announced B.C. Ferries shoulder season schedule. The local ferry advisory committee has, over the last several years, implored B.C. Ferries to maintain a 5:30 p.m.

Editor: On Sept. 1, I attended the raucous council meeting about Davis Bay. First of all, thank you Coun. Warren Allan for doing a bang-up job covering for the missing mayor.

Editor: Re: District votes down Davis Bay highway widening (Coast Reporter, Sept. 3). Thank you to the District of Sechelt council for voting down the left turn lane that was being considered at Highway 101 and Davis Bay Road.

Editor: The Sunshine Coast's capacity to produce food locally is being threatened by Sechelt's draft official community plan (OCP).
