Let them do their job

Pet peeves, oooh yes, I have a few.

Months ago I wrote a letter to the editor about cars with burned out headlights and taillights. I thought this was a public safety plea on my part to make people aware and check their lights. It is now early July and I still drive around and count 10 or more cars or trucks and yes, even a motorcycle, with lights burned out each time I am out and about.

Why on earth don't the police stop these people? Why don't these people check their lights? It drives me nuts.

And yes, I have another pet peeve - people who constantly write articles, put out newsletters and emails, contact other newspapers, or anything they can think of to make Sechelt look bad.

We live in a great community with friendly, helpful people and it is such a disservice to everyone to even hint that things are bad in Sechelt.

Growth is inevitable. We all won't like everything that is done, but we voted in people to make wise decisions for us. Let them do their job. You can always run for council next time and give your time to the community. You sure aren't doing anything positive with your time now.

This not only frustrates me, but I think it frustrates the majority of the good citizens of Sechelt. If you don't want any growth to happen in Sechelt, then I suggest you volunteer to contribute extra funds to infrastructure repair and maintenance and property taxes.

Help in some way, and stop hindering us all.

Anita Paulin, Sechelt
