Editor: Since the recent change in the provincial tax, I am very disturbed to find that PST is now charged at the St. Mary's Thrift Shop in Sechelt. This shop sells articles that have already been taxed at their original purchase price.

Editor: I'm writing about a recent news item on CBC April 23 telling about a fishing boat being hauled out of drydock near Esquimalt and while that was happening, it collided with a Navy vessel.

Editor: Congratulations to reporter John Gleeson for keeping Sechelt taxpayers informed about the District of Sechelt's unsafe Cowrie one-way ominous plan.

Editor: I really do think my member of Parliament is a decent guy, but he always disappoints. In the case of the temporary foreign workers (TFW) program, a Liberal motion was submitted to study in committee.

Editor: Congratulations to the good souls responsible for busting the Scotch broom near the Highway 101 development in Sechelt. Cutting down this invasive plant will give native species and cultivated plants a chance to grow.

Editor: I am moved to send this letter after walking around the provincialpicnic site on Beach Avenue in Roberts Creek. I was disgusted to see many blue, full poop bags just discarded.

Editor: I read a notice last week that as of April 22, West Vancouver residents will have garbage collection every other week and recycling materials picked up every week.

Editor: Just how stupid and gullible does a certain Vancouver reporter think the people of Sechelt are? She recently launched a scathing, one-sided attack on Sechelt's mayor in a story that was full of misinformation and innuendo.

A strange thing happened after adjournment Wednesday afternoon at District of Sechelt council's committee of the whole meeting.
