Editor: Society has sanitized and domesticated the child’s world so that it is largely devoid of reasonable risk. Ironically, when we overprotect our children they become vulnerable because they have not learned to deal with risk.

Editor: Re: “Driftwood hut deemed high risk,” March 9. By all means! Let’s remove anything and everything that speaks of small-seaside-town character.

Editor: SSC (Sechelt Sustainable Community) tried to get a public meeting over the past three years as they watched the project go through four planners. And with every new planner, SSC was forced to go back to square one and recreate the wheel.

Editor: Kudos to the District of Sechelt for sticking to their policy of smart growth. On March 7 councillors voted in support of our OCP, protecting our downtown and encouraging investment and development within our urban containment boundary.
