Editor: The long-awaited next wave of infection is now here and how well we do will depend on our self-discipline and individual consciousness.

Editor: The last few weeks I’ve been driving back and forth between Langdale and the Sechelt Aquatic Centre, three or four times per week. This works out to about 200 kilometres per week. A crazy amount of driving to go for a swim.

Editor: Unfortunately, when the subject of barges in Gibsons Harbour came up (“Gibsons mayor promises action on barges,” Oct. 16, and response letters on Oct. 23), the most important point was missed by all.

Editor: I find the letter from Linda Ruiz (“Walk on a dog-free trail,” Oct. 23) to be extremely offensive. The last time I checked, our parks and trails were there for the benefit of all.

Editor: This month will see a change in The Heart of the Creek, when the woodworking school closes at that location. For 15 years Inside Passage Woodworking School has been quietly teaching fine woodworking skills to students from all over the world.

Editor: Re: “Greens eye returning BC Ferries to government fold,” Oct. 23. Here we go again.

Editor Re: “New highway not wanted,” Letters, Oct. 23. The Sunshine Coast Highway Society’s petition, signed by over 6,400 people and presented to the B.C. legislature, clearly referenced the need for a new bypass highway route.

This is in response to the article in the Oct. 16 paper headlined “Gibsons mayor promises action on barges,” accompanied by an expansive picture view of a barge and flotilla of kayaks.
