The following letter was sent to Gibsons council and copied to Coast Reporter. Most people I have spoken to are astounded when they realize how high the proposed George complex could be.

Editor: This is not a letter about The George. It is not about a conference centre either. Nor is it about water, views, the economy or condo-plexes. I will not discuss the overarching global meltdown rhetoric in this letter.

Editor: My husband and I are long-time visitors to the Sunshine Coast and have recently become residents of Gibsons.

Editor: Most of us agree that there should be zero tolerance for bullying in our schools. Why, then, do we put up with bullying in our streets? There are signs in Sechelt with slogans against our present mayor.

An open letter to MP John Weston: Please do not support bombing anywhere in Syria or any other small foreign country. Allow the Syrians to solve their own problems and to enjoy the benefits of having some of the largest gas reserves in the world.

Editor: Thank goodness nothing came of the idea to ban roosters because of the noise they create. Most of us could tolerate that natural sound far more readily than those made by machines.

Editor: Just a correction to the article I read online, “Sunshine Dragons Abreast Sarasota bound.” There were four founding members of the Sunshine Dragons Abreast.

Editor: I read the article about Bruce Milne (Coast Reporter, Sept. 19) and it scared the heck out of me. Then I checked his website and it scared me even more. He states the main issue of the election is integrity and trust.

Editor: I have fielded some questions from seniors and families on the Coast regarding advanced foot care for seniors with serious medical conditions.
