Editor: I have always voted.

Editor: Before we start looking at a road link from the Sea to Sky Highway to the Sunshine Coast, I believe we should have a hard look at the highway conditions and capacity currently available on the Coast.

Editor: I was a frequent visitor to Shirley Macey Park with my two dogs a couple years ago before they became too old. The group was extremely careful to pick up any dog poo as well as cleaning up after other folks who had not picked up.

Editor: Compliments are due to the current Sechelt mayor and council. Local governments frequently operate on the principle of responding to “those who turn up” at their meetings and complain the loudest.

Editor: The opening of the new Sechelt sewage treatment plant is the most significant, positive, environmental event I have witnessed in my 35 years of residence on the Sunshine Coast.

Editor: Amidst the campaign rhetoric and the downright mean-spirited antics of certain people, it would be nice to look at actual issues instead of attacking personalities.

Editor: I am writing to ask that we make decisions for leadership and representation for the next four years based on sound principles. I am embarrassed that we are behaving with such poor manners.

Editor: Election time is when we assess how things are going and decide if there should be a change of the guard. We recently returned from a month in the U.K.

Editor: I’m only just now in my 40s and admittedly did not pay much attention to municipal politics prior to the last six years, and a part of me is starting to miss those days.
