Sunshine Coast LIFT, home to the Sunshine Coast Boxing Club, a new integrated fitness facility in Wilson Creek, opened its doors last Sunday, Jan.

Travelling to the far reaches of the Lower Mainland soccer world in South Surrey beside White Rock to meet the Coastal FC this past weekend, our Sunshine Coast U14 boys Storm FC were ready to take on the top team from that division.

The Chatelech Ski Team had another race last Sunday and prospects were good for the team. Evelyn Klassen destroyed her competition in Girls Snowboarding and got another win under her belt.

PaceSetter Athletic Run Club members Jamie, Teresa, Krisztina and Trudy took part in the Steveston Icebreaker 8k, held Jan. 20 in Richmond. The Icebreaker is race #1 of the Lifestages Lower Mainland Road Race Series.

The 42nd annual Gibsons Curling Club Men’s Bonspiel took place Jan. 18 to 20 with 24 teams competing, including eight teams from the Sunshine Coast. Curlers from as far away as Ontario participated in the three-day competition.

On Jan. 12, the Chatelech Ski Team made their way to Whistler for their first race after the holidays. The team left with great results. Evelyn Klassen finished with first place in Girls Snowboarding, another repeated win for her.
