Adults have been flinging rubber balls at each other with competitive ferocity Monday nights in February and March at Roberts Creek Elementary School to beat the winter doldrums. On March 11, The Monstars beat more than winter.

Coast boxers Marcus Davies and Angela Canterutti trained at Boxing BC’s pre- nationals training camp in Richmond March 18 to 22 in preparation for the Canadian championships, which will take place this April in Victoria.

Eight Sunshine Coast Skating Club skaters attended the Burnaby 8-Rinks STAR 1-4 competition March 16-17, claiming six gold and two silver.

Sunshine Coast swimmer Genny Verge has won two gold medals at the Special Olympic World Games in Abu Dhabi. Genny finished first in the 25-metre butterfly and 50-metre freestyle, with one more relay scheduled for Wednesday.

Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey’s Pewee C2 team won a Lions Gate League championship banner last Saturday. The game was settled with an exciting overtime goal, scored by Chase Stelter.
