After spending most of the season in the basement, the Powerclean Outlaws have finally seen the light. The Outlaws moved into second place in the Men's A-division hockey league standings with a pair of wins last week.

The senior boys' high school basketball season wrapped up in fine fashion last weekend at Elphinstone Secondary School. The Elphi Cougars hosted a six-team round robin tournament to finish off the year. The tournament started last Thursday, Feb.

The Inlet Raiders nearly got their revenge last Saturday night at the Sunshine Coast Arena.

The Gibsons Pigs got back into the win column with an impressive 37-0 thrashing of the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Clan in third division rugby action at Elphinstone Secondary School, Feb. 28.

The Midget Rep Blues will represent the Sunshine Coast March 14 to 20 at the 2004 Midget AA Provincial Championships in Parksville. The Blues clinched the berth last weekend at the Final Four play downs in Port Moody.

Spikes and set reigned supreme last weekend during the annual Suncoast Cup Co-ed Volleyball Tournament at Chatelech Secondary School. This year's event featured four teams from around the Coast.

The Killarney Knights Women's Hockey Club will be on the Sunshine Coast next weekend for a women's hockey challenge. The Knights will take part in a public skate at the Sunshine Coast Arena starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.

The coaching staff from the Canadian Men's National Volleyball team is coming to set up shop on the Sunshine Coast. A two-day evaluation camp is set for March 20 and 21 at Chatelech Secondary School.

Vancouver Island's premiere adventure race series is coming to the Sunshine Coast. The fifth annual Mind over Mountain Adventure Racing (MOMAR) Series is scheduled to hold an event on June 12 in the Sechelt area.
