The UBC Thunderbird women's volleyball team continues to re-write the history books after winning their fourth straight national title at the University of Laval last Sunday.

After a weekend off, the U13 boys Scorpions played twice last weekend, keeping their winning streak intact. On Saturday the Scorpions travelled to Burnaby to face the Timbers.

It has been a great year for the Sunshine Coast Skating Club and an exceptional year for 12-year-old Caitlin Jarvis. She was selected to carry the Olympic Torch just prior to attending the BC Winter Games where she placed 13th overall.

The improvement of the Sunshine Coast Special Olympics curling team was clearly evident on Feb. 19 with their second place finish at the annual bonspiel in Abbotsford.

The Pender Harbour senior boys captured third place at an eight-team tournament in Ashcroft on the Feb. 12/13 weekend. Game one saw Pender win 66-61 in overtime over B.C. Christian Academy. Joel Field scored 17, while Charles Christian added 14.

The senior girls' basketball season concluded on a high note for both Elphinstone and Chatelech last weekend. Elphi hosted the Cougar Classic tournament featuring the Eagles, King George and Pemberton.

At the Griffins Boxing Club in North Vancouver Saturday, Feb. 5, the Sunshine Coast Boxing Club had three of its senior boxers in action on an amateur boxing card with 10 bouts contested.
