Sunshine Coast Cycling will again be hosting a two-day mountain bike race in Roberts Creek.
Saturday, April 30, starts the weekend with a marathon cross-country race. Racers have a choice of a 45 km or 28 km loop around Roberts Creek.
Organizers expect the winner to be finished in about 2.5 hours while those who want to get their money's worth might take five hours. Signage is now up on the trails, so those wishing to check out the course may do so before entering. Start and finish are at the SC Equestrian corral at B&K and the powerlines.
A salmon barbecue hosted by the Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club will greet the finishers. Prizes vary from cash purses to the wonderful crazy art work of Sa Boothroyd, local cyclist and artist.
Norco has jumped on board as sponsors again and will be bringing lots of Norco product with them for draw prizes.
Sunday, May 1, sees the return of the very popular Mach Chicken downhill race, also in the Creek. New this year is a category called The Works. Show us you can do both the 45 km cross country course and the downhill race on the same bike and there'll be special prizes for the top guy and top girl.
