The league is hosting drop-in practices in January to entice new players

The Gibsons Curling Club is running at full speed once again. After a two year “alteration of operations” due to COVID, it’s energizing and refreshing to see curlers back at their favourite winter pastime.

If you’re over 60 and would like to play basketball again, you’ll want to be at Davis Bay Elementary School at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, for the first evening of 'Old Guys' basketball.

Earlier this month, six Elphinstone Secondary students went to SFU to wrestle in 'War on the Floor.' Wrestlers from Washington State, Edmonton, and Calgary all came to wrestle the best in B.C. 

This year, of the 40 families the Ministry of Children and Family Development is distributing Christmas hampers to on the Sunshine Coast, 10 are sponsored by local minor hockey teams.

Local volunteerism for Special O continues to grow
