Gibsons powerlifter 'unstoppable' at nationals

Local power lifter Tommy Johnston was unstoppable at the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU) Nationals meet, held in Richmond Feb. 13 to 18.

Local power lifter Tommy Johnston was unstoppable at the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU) Nationals meet, held in Richmond Feb. 13 to 18.

Johnston took home the gold medal in the 105kg Junior class, while setting multiple provincial and national records.

Deadlift: 733 pounds (national record). Squat: 683 pounds (provincial record). Bench Press: 374 pounds (provincial record).
