A Roberts Creek couple got an unexpected Christmas gift this season, one which has already changed their lives dramatically.

Dan Chercover, co-chair of the Suncoast Woodcrafters Guild Toys and Gifts program, presents Catherine Leach, executive director, and Lynn Mackay of Sunshine Coast Community Services with 110 handcrafted wood gifts made by Guild members.

A fleet of 26 electric vehicles decked their hubcaps for a festive drive from Gibsons to Sechelt on Dec. 19. Included in the parade were Santa’s Sleigh and Rudolph. Bystanders watched from driveways despite the torrential rain.
