It was a sunny day March 31, and COVID-spaced and masked volunteers chatted while placing washers on newly harvested eelgrass shoots.

When it comes to their international service projects, the Rotary Club of Gibsons has a clear mandate: to provide a “hand up” and not a hand-out.

Easter was all around as 65 colourful “Good Eggs” representing volunteer folks and organizations in our community were proudly displayed. Thank you to the Pender Harbour Community School for this lovely, heartwarming event.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week and a lovely Easter weekend. The weather cooperated for the most part providing us with some sunny days although the temperature was barely in the double digits and the wind was cool.

I was just given one month’s notice by my landlord. I’m not really sure if this is legal or not, or what to do. I am very overwhelmed when it comes to understanding my rights.

Children in Sechelt were excited to meet the “Lions Easter Bunnies” on Sunday, April 4. The Bunnies handed out chocolate and candy at a drive-through event held at Chatelech Secondary School.

Volunteers from Gibsons churches, service groups and Elphinstone Secondary School packed and distributed more than 330 traditional Easter dinners “to go” last Sunday, setting a new record for the community event.

Well, here we are facing stepped-up COVID restrictions again; it’s important to stop the variants in their tracks! But how nice to get outside in these lengthening days and seeing what nature has to offer.
