An estimated 300 people attended the Rotary Skateboard Park grand reopening in Sechelt on Sept. 12, with more than 100 skaters demonstrating their skills.

Tamara Hedden, vice-president of the Cedar Grove PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) and fundraising chair, says that the school year has gotten off to a good start.

The Sunshine Coast Electric Vehicle Association will hold its 6th Annual Sechelt Electric Vehicle Festival on Saturday, Sept. 25.

Our little legion is opening its doors for the first indoor show since “the before times.” With its newly sanded floors, it hasn’t looked this good ever, probably not even when it was a fishing camp (in the real before times).

Fall season is on our doorstep and time for Carole Logtenburg to hold her very popular Hatha Yoga classes indoors at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. Classes are Mondays and Fridays at 9:15 a.m. For more information go to coast.

Approximately 60 species of birds arrive on the Sunshine Coast to spend the summer with us, taking advantage of the warm weather and abundant food in the form of insects, fruits and seeds.
