Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful week. Thankfully, the weather was typical for this time of year with no extraordinary weather statements from Environment Canada. The long-range forecast is calling for snow on Christmas Day. Will it really be a white Christmas?

The Fawn’s Road Stand’s first day of the ‘Tiny Holiday Market’ at the O Farm, was a huge success this last Sunday. Justine said that, “Baked goods were flying off the shelves!”

Some comments from happy customers were, “The cookies were wonderful!” And, “The apple gallette was yummy! Such flakey pastry!”

Justine and Tim moved to Halfmoon Bay in April 2020, right at the beginning of the pandemic, so meeting neighbours has been difficult. “It was awesome to meet people and talk about baking and I am looking forward to connecting with more folks in the next few weeks.”

The Tiny Holiday Market will be at the O Farm at 8070 Redrooffs Road for only two more days, Sunday, Dec. 19 and Thursday, Dec. 23, so be sure to stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Say hi to Justine and enjoy some holiday cheer. There will be plenty of baked goods, full pies (fresh or frozen), cookie boxes, and holiday decor. Way to go Justine and welcome to Halfmoon Bay!

While you’re on Redrooffs on those same two days, be sure to stop by the Rustic Rooster roadside stand at 7892 Redrooffs. Their stand will have some wonderful items for sale, such as homemade gifts, fudge, jams and a variety of baked goodies. There are no particular hours so stop by early as the baked goods sell out fast.

There is also another wonderful roadside stand at 7835 Eagle Drive. The Modern Hippie Home Stand has a variety of gifts, gift baskets, candles and soaps, swag, centrepieces and so much more. The items they sell are sustainable-living goods which includes produce grown right on their property. The stand is open daily until Christmas from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Santa in the Park at Coopers Green this last Sunday was enjoyed by many happy kids and families. Linda McMahon, president of the Halfmoon Bay Community Association said that, “It was a great turnout considering the weather. Thanks so much to Jeni Stafford for the amazing crafts activity and to Marilyn Gratton and her husband Ron for all their hard work to make this event a success!” What an awesome event for families in the community. Thank you to all the volunteers, the Halfmoon Bay Community Association, Halfmoon Bay Volunteer Fire Department and the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School!

Looking for an amazing Christmas light display? Be sure to visit 7625 Eureka Place to see an incredible light show complete with over 14,000 lights synchronized to music. The show runs automatically from Dec. 3 to 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday to Thursday and 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Share some good cheer and bring along a non-perishable food item for the food bank.

This is the last reminder for the Halfmoon Bay Christmas Boat Parade event scheduled for tomorrow, Dec. 18. Although the weather forecast shows a chance of rain, the wind looks to be calm later in the afternoon. Boat participants are encouraged to contact Lynn prior to the event so you are on the notification list for final confirmation of ‘go or no go.’ Please contact Lynn directly at [email protected]. There are a few great spots to view the parade from shore such as Coopers Green Park, the government wharf and Welcome Beach. Be sure to check the Halfmoon Bay BC Everything Facebook page with a final update from Lynn.
