Sonia Trudel and Doug Marteinson built birdhouses out of recycled materials and sold them at Sunnycrest Mall Dec. 10, to raise money for the Community Christmas Dinner. The birdhouses sold out in two hours and raised $1,225. This was the first time the two have done this. “We had so much fun building,” wrote Sonia in an email. “The community response exceeded our expectations.” The two are thinking of doing this again next year but first they need to find free weathered 1x6 fence boards.
