Pender Harbour-Egmont: Two days of Legion fun this weekend

And don’t miss the Christmas Boat Parade Saturday
Pender Harbour

Correction: This story's subheading previously said that the boat parade was Sunday – it is in fact Saturday.

The Legion #112 has two days of fantastic events. Saturday, Dec. 18 (yes, that is tomorrow), the outrageously popular, exciting, Christmas Ham, Turkey Draw and Basket Auction will find folks lined up to get in so get there early. Then, Sunday Brunch starts off 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., delish! Steve Hinton Band will take the stage at 2 p.m. and will spoil you with three hours of the best live music around! Cover charge at the door is $5 (and tip jar on the stage).

Saturday evening treat yourself, friends and family to another Harbour tradition, the Christmas Boat Parade. Number 57! sets sail off Millennium Park at 6 p.m.

As we enjoy good times this holiday season remember there are those not so fortunate.

Through the month of December, the funds raised through the Rotary’s 50/50 draw will go to the Pender Harbour Food Bank. Now, more than ever the food bank is the lifeline for those who have been hard hit by these challenging times.

‘A Merry Christmas Faire’ last Saturday hosted by the Pender Harbour Community Club was an enormous success! Congrats to the winning bidder Ian MacKay of the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society, who took home the magnificent quilt created and generously donated by Jean Minch. Huge heartfelt thanks to Jean, all the talented vendors, exhibitors, outstanding entertainers Rick Kobus, HUGS, Suzanne & Tim and to all of you who came out and supported our event. We will continue to host these fundraising events throughout the year to keep up our beautiful heritage hall for all to enjoy.
