Editor: I was very surprised to see that the gas prices in Gibsons went up today (May 18) from 106.9 to 112.9 cents a litre. Especially when I read on the same day the following story on the net: Oil prices slide under US$70.

Theft and senseless vandalism continue to plague our communities, so much so, we're issuing a call to action.

Editor: Re: Unions warn of cuts to libraries, Special Ed (Coast Reporter, May 14). I hope the superintendent of our school district and our elected trustees know that it is not OK to pretend that our public schools will survive more cuts.
