Editor: For Sechelt council to choose Canada's Small Business Week to start a repeal process against the Target fish hatchery, apparently one of the Sunshine Coast's most outstanding small businesses, is quite telling.

Editor: Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue is interested in training some new recruits. This will be a four-step process starting with an information and orientation meeting held Nov. 10 followed by an evening of interviews on Nov. 23.

Editor: I am writing in response to the article in last week's Coast Reporter regarding the Mental Health staff team-building event.

Editor: Taxing Camp Olave will certainly be a win-win situation for the Sechelt council.

The following letter was sent to Sechelt mayor and council and forwarded to Coast Reporter. I would like to go on record as being completely in favour of Target Marine's rezoning last year and their sturgeon and caviar processing expansion plans.

My step mom, a tremendous woman, used to regularly volunteer at a soup kitchen for drop-ins in need of a warm meal. She used to say "I do it for selfish reasons - it makes me feel good.

Editor: I wish to protest most strongly against the move to tax Guide Camp Olave. If this measure goes through, there is no way the Girl Guide Association can pay this tax, and the camp will have to be sold or abandoned.
