Editor: In debating the future of a Gibsons hotel, it seems to me that one essential has been ignored.

Editor: The B.C. government has changed the rules for funding tourism marketing, and we need to get on board or be left behind.

Editor: Since Confederation, men and their agendas have governed Canada. The Harper government epitomizes what happens when “angry white men” control the political agenda.

Editor: We are now in an election campaign that will not only be the longest in modern history but, thanks to the Conservatives’ Fair Election Act, it will be the most expensive we have ever had.

Editor: As we enter upon a national election, I would like to call attention to my non-experience with our MP John Weston.

Editor: We all share the grief expressed by Andrew Appleton in his July 31 letter about the Howe Sound mill layoffs (“Mr. Weston, where have you been?”).

Editor: Dear strategic voter: Help me out, I don’t understand.

Editor: I spent my Sunday announcing at the drag races, constantly aware that every racer on every run was being served by two “invisible” volunteer heroines.
