Re: “George Hotel blues” (Letters, Oct. 2).
Really? The presence of the Gibsons Waterfront Defence Association at the George open house caused Mr. William Baker to go home and burn all his blue T-shirts? How dramatic! Such conflagration! I guess that this George issue is more incendiary and heated than I thought.
Using pejoratives like “hijack,” “gang,” “ambush,” “paparazzi,” and “thrusting” to describe his fellow citizens who were peacefully and politely offering more information at a public information event is certainly not warranted. The absence of any council members or peer review professionals meant that this “information” event was nothing more than a sales promotion.
We are sorry to learn that Mr. Baker’s wardrobe has been so direly depleted all due to the shocking display of democracy shown by all those nasty blue meanies.
